According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, the export volume of unforged and rolled aluminum and aluminum materials in China in May 2024 was 565000 tons, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year; The cumulative export volume from January to May reached 2.562 million tons, an increase of 10.8% year-on-year.

The pattern of strong external and weak internal price differences continued in May, which is conducive to domestic production enterprises laying out exports. Aluminum plate and strip, aluminum foil, and aluminum alloy enterprises all reported a year-on-year positive growth in export orders. It is worth noting that the recent increase in overseas trade barriers has had a certain negative impact on China's aluminum exports in the future. However, there is still some room for growth in the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets, and the supply and high cost-effectiveness advantages of Chinese aluminum are difficult to be quickly replaced. It is expected that the export volume will maintain a growth trend in June.
